To participate in the auction, it is necessary to register in the Auction system (https://sk-nic.sk/en/auctions/).

“In case of a payment to the wrong account, it is necessary to contact the support team in order to return the incorrectly made payment and make it correctly. Contact information is published on the SK-NIC website in the Contact section.

With the request for the refund of the fee, it is also necessary to send a proof of payment of the given amount.”

After the end of the auction, the winner will be asked to pay the relevant fee, which is equal to the winning amount. By paying the fee, the winner of the auction gets the right to register the won 1-2-3 Domain, while SK-NIC will then notify him of the details of the next procedure.

“The auction system is intended for 1-, 2- and 3-character domains whose registration has been prohibited so far (are in the List of 1-2-3 .sk Domains for Auctions). It is not yet possible to offer your own domain to the auction.

“Released 1-2-3 Domains are all domains in Annex no. 1 Conditions. Other .sk domains consisting of a 1-, 2- or multi-character string, such as those listed in Annex no. 1 of the Conditions, they will not be released according to the Conditions (their registration through the auction will not be possible).

1-2-3 Domain release means obtaining the right to register under the Terms, but not the registration itself. This must be done by the relevant person with the rights obtained under the Terms and Conditions at the time specified under the Terms (he must participate and win the auction).

The successful release of the 1-2-3 Domain means the completion of the registration of the affected Domain.”

“In case of violation, or failure to meet the Conditions, SK-NIC reserves the right to terminate the process of releasing 1-2-3 Domains at any time.

“In order for trademark owners to exercise the priority right to register 1-, 2- and 3-character domains, the trademark must be registered in at least one of the following registers:

“The trademark must exactly correspond to the 1-2-3 chain of the Domain (uppercase and lowercase letters, or font style are not distinguished for this purpose) to which the application applies, while special characters may contain only a space (see example).

Example:

The registrant of the trademark “”CZ””, “”cz”” and/or “”C Z”” can apply for the priority right to the domain “”cz.sk””, while the registrant of the trademark “”C&Z”” or “”C-Z”” can no longer apply for the priority right to the domain “”cz.sk””.”

“The amount of the minimum bid depends on the starting price of the auction (see Why is the minimum bid price different for auctions?).

The maximum amount for a single auction is not set and the decision is entirely up to each participant.”

No, it is not possible to withdraw from the auction before its end and use the auction guarantee to participate in the next auction. If you want to participate in a new auction, you need to submit a new auction guarantee for the given auction. The security is reserved from your credit. If you do not have enough credit in the auction system, you need to increase it using the payment gateway on the auction portal.

“In the auction release phase, domains will be released for 7 calendar days. During this period, it is possible to participate in the given auction and bid on the desired domain.

For more details, we recommend reading the Terms and Conditions, point 5.”

Yes, unless SK-NIC decides and informs the winner otherwise, the exercise of the right to register the domain will be done through the chosen Registrar.

“The amount of the minimum bid depends on the starting price of the auction, as follows:

up to €49 – minimum bid is 1 euro
€50 – €249 – minimum bid is €5
€250 – €499 – minimum bid is €10
€500 – €999 – minimum bid is €20
€1000 and more – the minimum bid is €50”

No, in order to bid in the auction, it is necessary to have credit in the amount to pay the initial auction guarantee. If the bidding amount exceeds the auction guarantee, the owed amount will be paid by the winner at the end of the auction.

Domain registration will be carried out by SK-NIC a.s., and only consent to the given registration is required from the registrar (the primary e-mail address is sufficient). The registrar will then see the domain registration on his invoice.

No, the registrant to whom the domain won in the auction is subsequently registered must have identical data identical to the winner in the auction system. However, this does not limit the later transfer to another registrant.

The registrar can enter into such a contract with a third party, but in the event of a win, the entity that won the auction (in this case, the domain registrar) becomes the registrant. The registrar also acknowledges that all fees and fines associated with the auction will have to be paid by him and not by a third party within the specified period.

“A participant in the auction can only be a person who can be a User according to the Rules.

According to point 2.1 of the Rules: A User may be any physical or legal person that has a postal address (address to receive physical paper
forms of communication) in any of the European Union member states, or a state within the European
Economic Area, a member state of the European Free Trade Association or in the United Kingdom.

This means that anyone from all over the world can become a User, and therefore a future Holder of the .sk Domain, but must have a delivery address in one of the states according to this condition. So it must have some kind of legal presence or representation in that territory, and not just a P.O. BOX.”

“SK-NIC is not responsible for the infringement of rights to trademarks, trade marks, names or companies resulting from the registration or use of 1-2-3 Domains

If the domain is in the phase of auction release, we recommend that you resolve the situation through the ADR Center (charged out-of-court proceedings – https://adr.eisionline.org/sk/) or through the law enforcement authorities, and only after the decision of the relevant authority can SK -NIC, a.s. to act.”

All payments during the release process under these Terms and Conditions are made in Euro currency. SK-NIC will add VAT in the appropriate amount according to applicable tax legislation to payments made under these Terms and Conditions. SK-NIC issues invoices for payments according to these Terms and Conditions according to the legal regulations in force in the Slovak Republic.

“If you win the auction, the auction guarantee will be deducted directly from the winning amount. If you are not successful, the auction guarantee will be returned as a credit to your account.

The auction guarantee serves to eliminate situations where users who are not really interested in the domain would bid in the auctions, they are only “testing” the portal and distorting the ongoing auction and the amount of submissions with their bidding.”

The final amount to be paid is including VAT, while the bidding amount is stated without VAT. Also, the final amount for payment may be lower or zero, because the auction guarantee that has already been submitted is used for the payment.

In the case of payment from abroad, it is necessary to enter a variable symbol in the form of VS/SS/KS in the payment reference section (example: for a payment where the variable symbol 1000 should have been entered, it is necessary to enter VS1000/SS/KS in the payment reference section).

Deposited funds are defined as a financial security (not as a deposit). This security is not tied to a particular supply of services, as at the time of the lodgement of funds. The purpose for which these resources will be used can not be precisely determined.

A tax document shall not be issued for the financial security. An invoice (tax record) is issued only after the purchase of specific goods / services. The financial guarantee can be used to cover the claims / liabilities.
