Headfirst into it! But with your own website…
In the second half of October, the registration price for a new .sk domain will be lower again—so go for it!
Do you have a great idea? Are you starting a business? It would be a shame to let your business “fly” around the internet without its own address…
Having your own website makes a big difference
Imagine you’re telling someone about your amazing bakery, hair salon, online store, or custom furniture business. What will you give him? Instagram photos? A phone number? Or do you simply tell them:
“You can find me on my website.” Or: “Here’s a QR code leading to me.”
The last option is the best one! Having your own website on a .sk domain gives your business a specific address, so interested person know exactly where to go. A custom domain looks professional and helps build your brand. Plus, the .sk suffix clearly indicates that you are part of the Slovak online space.
A website is not just an online business card
Your own website doesn’t have to be large or complicated. It can start as a simple page with contact details and your service offerings, then grow alongside your business. It can evolve into a portfolio, a booking system, a blog, or a full-fledged online store—and today’s AI tools can create it in no time.
And what about social media?
Feel free to use them. They are great for communication, grabbing attention, and building a community. However, they don’t have to be—and really shouldn’t be—the only place where your business exists, because they aren’t built for that. Plus, they are quite limited.
So let’s do it!
✔ Start with the address. Check if your .sk domain is available at https://whois.sk-nic.sk/, register it through your registrar between October 19 and 25, 2026, at a special price, and give your idea a place on the internet.
✔ If you don’t have a registrar, choose one. They will ensure your domain appears in the virtual world. There are many registrars; choose one from the official list of .sk registrars.
✔ And all you need now is the content (and the web hosting where it will be stored)—your registrar will usually take care of that for you.
