The „old” year 2025 was marked by auctions – nine times we allowed you to acquire the right to register unique .sk domains through auctions. We will continue again in 2026!
The opportunity to participate in this year’s first auction and obtain a new .sk domain will last (as usual) 1 week, from January 21 to 28, 2026. This month, 20 unique, previously unregisterable .sk domains will be up for auction, such as 2.sk, be.sk or ro.sk.
What makes these domains unique?
- They are short – only one or two characters, which can be a huge advantage in online advertising or on a billboard.
- They are easy to remember – which is great for marketing! They are also easy to pronounce and quick to type.
- They are rare – their registration has not been possible before and will not be possible again.
- They have investment value – their number is limited, there is only one of each, and their value increases over time.
- They appear trustworthy and established – a short domain often evokes a stable, well-known or long-standing brand. In addition, the .sk ending clearly indicates the Slovak market or area.
How to get them?
Click on the website sk-nic.sk/auctions/. There you will find detailed conditions for releasing unique .sk domains, but especially the list of .sk domains within the January auction. You create an account to the auction system, log in and that’s it. All you have to do is to bid on the auction.
We would like to remind you that at the end of 2024, we had launched the release of almost 300 unique .sk domains. Now, approximately a third of them are in someone’s hands!
A unique .sk domain is very valuable, but it has the greatest value in the right hands. Are they yours?
