For the third time, we bring the Annual Report on the Internet in Slovakia. This one concerns the year 2022, whose one definition should be – turbulent.
After the gradual receding of the corona virus pandemic, we all hoped that this year would be a more relaxed and optimistic one. Instead, on February 24th came the Russian invasion of Ukraine. We all know what consequences it had and has – especially fear, uncertainty, the economic crisis and misinformation spreading.
All of this has also been manifested in the online world, which is always a reflection of the real one.
We started to learn to think even more critically and to fight the misinformation not only in personal meetings, but also in the virtual environment.

But a lot of good and important things happened as well – e.g. support of the SK-NIC Fund, which helped 37 great and innovative projects during the year and exceeded €1 million in total since its founding!
The “family of .sk domains” also grew, and in 2022 – specifically in August – the number of .sk domains exceeded 450,000 for the first time!
