National Security Authority (further as NSA) has prepared an amendment to the Cyber Security Act, SK-NIC assumes active entry into the public comments phase.
NSA proceeded to amend the Act No. 69/20188 on cybersecurity. The amendment is currently in the public comments phase and it is therefore possible to actively approach the proposal with comments and modifications.
The wording of the amendment is located on the legal and information portal slov-lex: https://www.slov-lex.sk/legislativne-procesy/-/SK/dokumenty/LP-2020-400
According to its creator, the amendment is intended to increase the powers of national authorities, to regulate the cyber security certification process and the position of the auditor, and to clarify certain definitions of the law.
One of the most fundamental parts of the amendment is also the relatively tough and unilateral competence of the NSA to intervene into the actions of any entity through the so-called blocking, including virtually any requirements and deadline to comply regardless of the possibilities and costs on the part of the entity concerned and without the possibility of corrective action or objection, which is in principle a power stronger than what the Slovak courts or the Police Force have. Our company recommends considering the legal and material impacts, especially on Registrars, but also on other entities, and to express the comments directly through the above mentioned portal.
If you have a comment or a proposal to amend the act, it is possible to do so on the website slov-lex.sk.
