The level of knowledge about security risks is relatively low in the Slovak Republic. According to the outcome of the testing across Slovakia – IT Fitness Test in 2018 (Note: Slovak only), the success of students and teachers tested in category „Security and Computer Systems“ was only 20% (actually, this annual already started). This fact leads to a re-launch of the #kry-sa project, which aims to raise awareness in the field of internet security.
Subjects behind project renewal are IT Association of Slovakia in cooperation with partners from the private sector, like SK-NIC, and public sector, where the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investments and Informatization is the main partner. Website www.kry-sa.sk (Note: Slovak only) is supposed to present a reliable platform for all who need to find out knowledge on information security or are looking for help with some security problem. It is to become a primary information source about risks and threats associated with the internet and digital technologies usage and it is also expected to provide advice to cybercrime victims and how to protect oneself.
A related line of the project is a prepared education and training in schools or in cooperation with expert partners, workshops or webinars. These activities will be led by information and/or cyber experts.
SK-NIC as the main partner of IT Fitness Test in the previous year became a partner of the project #kry-sa as well. An ambition is to not only initiate a public dialogue about necessary changes in the education process but also enhance the quality of the whole society in security questions solutions, that affect our ‘digital‘ lives.
