The SK-NIC Fund has already supported projects worth hundreds and thousands of EUR. With the other challenge, the amount rose to more than EUR 850,000. In total, the Fund has already supported the implementation of more than 60 projects. Many of them still work today.
And since others are constantly being added to already implemented or ongoing projects, we have created a virtual space for communication with the appropriate name Virtualnô.sk.
Let’s see how this year’s Call for Large Projects turned out
The SK-NIC Fund Call for Large Projects 2022, which we announced on March 15, 2022, was open until May 31, 2022.
By the deadline, 53 applications were received from various civic associations, non-profit organizations, local governments, schools, individuals and municipalities, from all over Slovakia!
The Call for Large Projects covered these topics:
1. Projects supporting the safety of children in a virtual space, with up to 64% of applications submitted in this topic.
2. Projects supporting ICT transport (E-transport). Projects with this topic make up 15% of the total number of applications.
3. Digital hygiene projects for adults. These make up 21% of the total number of applications submitted.
The expert committee evaluated the projects and suggested approving 11 of them, applying for more than EUR 250,000. After signing the contracts and drawing the funds, the winners will be able to start implementing their projects in the fall.
It should also be noted that projects under this was supported from € 10,000 to € 30,000 and may take up to two years to implement.

“We were curious about this call because the topics and areas we announced are not standard. But even the last years are not standard and life around us brings a lot that we could not prepare for. However, we are happy to say that each topic has found its own projects.
We will start signing contracts and financing projects soon, creators of successful projects can look forward to it. In addition, we will take them back as our own, as we regularly do with all supported projects from the SK-NIC Fund for years, and we will, for example, promote them on our virtualno.sk portal or in other media.
We are already looking forward to the public presentation of the winning projects in Aurélium place on October 18, 2022″, said Peter Bíro, CEO SK-NIC.
