A presentation of successful projects of the SK-NIC Fund’s call for large projects took place on September 16, 2020. The invitation was also accepted by representatives of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic, registrars and members of the Commission for .sk National Domain Administration.
All 13 successful projects were presented, and each of the announced topics was represented among them. „Education through information and communication technologies“ and „support for communities through information and communication technologies“ were the most common choice for project managers. One project thematically focused on so-called „green IT“ received funding as well. Short video from the project presentation is available on our Youtube channel (English subtitles included).
Although the ideas are still only “in paper form” and in the mind of their creators, they will soon receive the approved amount for their implementation. In total, we will distribute 300,000 EUR! As this was call for large projects, applicants will have up to two years to complete their project.
We do not only give funds to the projects, we adopt them. With each project, we are trying to find opportunities for further support and cooperation. The presentation of supported projects confirmed us in the correctness of the mechanism of the SK-NIC Fund once again and also in the selection of topics, that intuitively reflected the current corona crisis. These days we can say that through the fund we will help children, young people and students, people with mental or physical disabilities and many others who will be positively affected by these wonderful projects.
„The presentation convinced me that through the SK-NIC Fund we can help to bring to life excellent ideas, from which specific children, students, as well as families whose members suffer from disabilities will benefit. I am glad that the current situation we are facing in connection with the COVID-19 disease was not an obstacle and that the individual participants dealt with it without any problems, either on the spot or in the form of an online presentation,“ said Mr. Peter Kucer, delegated General Director of the IT Department of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic.
Next call of the SK-NIC Fund is already open. The availability to apply is electronic only, via darca.sk (Slovak only), until October 15, 2020. All necessary information about the current call can be found on our website (Slovak only).
We wish a successful start to all of the projects and we are already looking forward to the next call!
