We take the security of the most beautiful domain suffix .sk very seriously. That’s why we enter into several international partnerships!
We have become a member of the European TLD ISAC
TLD administrators have started to band together to strengthen the security of their TLDs. We are also there – we became a member of the European TLD ISAC community, which was created only last year.
PIt brings together security experts from administrators of national domains such as .de, .pt, and now also .sk to share information about threats, develop proactive measures to prevent or mitigate the effects of cyber attacks, and identify new trends in cyber security at the level internet infrastructure.
Internet infrastructure has its specificities and the Internet is interconnected in such a way that it knows no borders. The threats that threaten us must therefore also be addressed at the international level. We do not hesitate and we join an initiative that takes security seriously.
We became a member of the National Cyber Security Coordination Center NCC-SK
We deal with security not only at the international, but also at the national level.
The National Coordination Center Slovakia (NCC-SK) serves as a single point of contact for businesses, companies, organizations, public administration and the general public. It cooperates with the European Competence Center, the European network of national coordination centers, as well as other international partners.
In this way, a common European professional background in the field of cyber security is being created in the European Union, and now the company SK-NIC has directly become a part of it.
The main goal of this initiative is to coordinate activities in the field of cyber security at all levels of the European environment.
We have joined the initiative to combat child abuse in the online space
It always sounds painful when dealing with the abuse of the most innocent. But the Internet is a place where such activities also happen. SK-NIC has decided to join an initiative that helps eliminate child pornography from the online environment. We want to make virtual Slovakia a safer place.
What does it mean?
SK-NIC joined the joint initiative of the IWF (International Watch Foundation) and the administrator of the .org domain. It searches for domains on which illegal content is operated, regarding child abuse – the so-called CSAM (child sexual abuse materials). It then alerts the administrators of the respective domains and tries to clean the online space of such illegal content.
You can read more on the website dedicated to the fight against CSAM activities.
