The price of a new registration and the extension of the registration period will not change in 2023.
“Even though costs are rising disproportionately, we have decided to keep the prices of new registrations and registration period extensions at the 2022 level for 2023.
Administrators in other countries are raising prices, but we perceive that Slovakian entrepreneurs are now experiencing massive price increases and costs. After a constructive discussion with some registrars and other partners, we have decided to cap our price for 2023 and leave it unchanged despite the logical development.
At SK-NIC, we believe that it is needed to help the growth and development of our virtual Slovakia, and therefore we will cover the growing costs in a differently next year.
We believe that registrars will also join our initiative and will not increase the prices of services related to registration of the most beautiful domain ending .sk”, said Peter Bíro, CEO of SK-NIC.
On July 1 st, 2021, the SK-NIC company launched a “benefits system” to support the development of the zone, in which it is possible to obtain a discount, which reduces the registration price to only 6 – EUR for one year.
The SK-NIC company regularly offers favorable promotions for .sk domain registrations, with a discount of up to 50% from the official price list. We firmly believe that it will be possible to continue them in 2023 as well.
Since the launch of the new mechanism in the area of support for the digital economy and virtual Slovakia projects, the SK-NIC Fund has distributed more than EUR 850,000 to projects that are already helping various groups to become more capable, smarter, more educated, or more accessible via the Internet.
Individual projects are also regularly presented on the virtual.sk portal.
Since 2019, the Academy of Virtual Slovakia has been educating not only teachers, parents, and youth but e.g. also police cadets or marginalized groups. The latest series, “Successfully and safely”, which is already running in the media, is dedicated to cyber security. In the form of short videos, he explains how to secure yourself in the virtual space, how to create passwords, and how to back up correctly.
Virtual Slovakia significantly helped everyone in surviving the pandemic crisis and obviously, it will help in the next ones as well. So let it do well!
