ICANN is periodically replacing the cryptographic key used to sign the DNS root zone, which is used to verify the authenticity of domain names across the internet.
Updating the primary key ensures the security and stability of the DNS system.
Patrick’s talk will give an update on DNSSEC ceremonies and plans for the next key signing key rollover, which is scheduled to take place in 2026.
